Go Digit General Insurance profit jumps 2.2X during Q4 FY25

Go Digit General Insurance has reported steady financial performance quarter-on-quarter, as the company’s gross written premium (GWP) increased by 10% in the quarter ending March 2025. At the same time, its profit doubled during the same quarter (Q4 FY25).

Go Digit’s GWP rose to Rs 2,576 crore in Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 2,335 crore in Q4 FY24, according to its financial report sourced from the National Stock Exchange.

For the full fiscal year, the Bengaluru-based firm crossed the Rs 10,000 crore milestone in GWP for the first time, growing 14% to Rs 10,282 crore in the fiscal year ending March 2025.

During Q4 FY25, Go Digit earned Rs 2,247 crore in net premiums, led again by motor insurance at Rs 1,373 crore, followed by Rs 436 crore from health insurance and Rs 312 crore from crop insurance, alongside smaller contributions from fire, marine, and miscellaneous segments.

Annually, Go Digit’s net premium earned stood at Rs 8,046 crore, with motor insurance contributing the lion’s share at Rs 5,424 crore. Health insurance, spanning retail, corporate, and government business, added Rs 1,664 crore, while crop insurance brought in Rs 652 crore. The fire and marine insurance segments contributed Rs 119 crore and Rs 9.8 crore respectively, and miscellaneous insurance segments collectively added Rs 184 crore.

On the expense side, commissions and brokerage costs increased 20% to Rs 598 crore, from Rs 499 crore in Q4 FY24. Employee benefits also saw decrease, with expenses totaling Rs 56 crore in Q4 FY25. Moreover, operating expenses related to business development, sales promotion, and other operations decreased significantly, and stood at Rs 84 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 150 crore in Q4 FY24.

In terms of claims, the company paid out Rs 1,353 crore in claims during Q4 FY25, up from Rs 1075 crore in Q4 FY24. There was also a change in outstanding claims, with an increase to Rs 365 crore in the same period.

Overall, the firm’s total expense rose 10% to Rs 2426 crore in Q4 FY25. Meanwhile, annually total expenses increased by 11% to Rs 8865 crore in the fiscal year ending March 2024.

Go Digit’s profit doubled to Rs 116 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 53 crore in Q4 FY24. On a fiscal-on-fiscal basis, the company’s profit increased by 133% to Rs 425 crore in FY25 from Rs 182 crore in FY24. By the close of trading on April 28, 2025, Go Digit’s shares were up 4.3%, ending the day at Rs 311.5.
