Agri-biotech startup GreenGrahi has raised Rs 32 crore ($3.73 million) in a funding round led Avaana Capital. The round also saw participation from Huddle, Campus Fund, Blume Founders Fund, and angel investors, including Nexus Venture’s Nitin Sharma and Northpoint Capital’s Sameer Brij Verma.
The fresh capital will be directed toward advancing its insect biomanufacturing platform, recruiting new talent, and driving international growth.
The Bengaluru-based startup had raised undisclosed pre-seed funding from Campus Fund in July 2023.
Founded in 2021 by Siddharth Sharma and Shivali Sugand, GreenGrahi leverages biotechnology and engineering to create premium insect-based ingredients and supplements for animal and plant nutrition. It follows a circular model, utilizing agricultural by-products sourced from partner FMCG firms and agri-input providers.
The company also produces biofertilisers, biostimulants, and biopesticides to boost soil health and crop resilience.
The B2B platform serves more than 10 clients across animal and plant nutrition. The startup plans to expand its scientific team and enter markets like the US, UK, and EU, which are expected to contribute 30–35% of its business.
